This is Rose Queen Elizabeth in front of the ruins of the 12th Rufford Abbey in Nottinghamshire. The rose is believed to be the Rosa Queen Elizabeth developed in the USA in 1954 by Doctor Walter Lammerts. The rose is very popular worldwide and has won numerous awards, including “Worlds Favourite Rose”.

As announced, the Rose of the Year 2022/23 initiative was dedicated to the memory of Queen Elizabeth II, a great admirer of roses. The official hymn is also dedicated to the late sovereign, the “Rose Theme”, composed by the English singer and musician Jeanie Barton and performed by the I.C. “Cassano-De Renzio” of Bitonto (Bari, Italy).
