Professional reporter, author and visual artist, Roberto Alborghetti has written about sixty books (biographies, interviews, stories). He worked in magazines and newspapers and produced Tv documentaries. His most recents best-selling books are “Francesco”, the first illustrated historical biography about Pope Francis (published by Velar-Elledici, November 2013, Large format, Two special versions), “Quando il giorno era una freccia” (When the day was an arrow) which investigates the school years and the cultural background of Pope Francis and “Nessuno resti indietro” (2016). His latest book is “A tavola con Papa Francesco”, published on March 2018 in 15 languages and different publishing company(Mondadori, Bayard, Larousse, Verlag Sudwest, Novalis…). “Enjoy your meal!” These are the words with which Pope Francis greets the worshippers in his speeches. Few knows the deeper meaning: before becoming Pope, he graduated in Food Chemistry and inherited the passion for food from his mother, grandmother and relatives who owned a restaurant in Piedmont, Italy.
In Roberto Alborghetti’s book you’ll discover the milestones of the Pope’s life and the dishes related to this main events: you can replicate them at home following the original recipes in the book. A volume that gives a new perspective on the beloved, charismatic figure of Pope Francis, recounted by the Pope’s biographer, Roberto Alborghetti.

Editor in chief of magazines concerning didactic, education, edutainment and media literacy, he leads workshops and conferences. He has won important journalism Prizes, such as Premio Acqui Terme, Premio Beppe Viola, Premio Anmil Safety in Work. He is the unique Italian reporter who received the European Award for Environmental Reporting, the so called European “Pulitzer” about Environmental Reporting (1992, European Parliament, Strasbourg).

ABOUT “LACER/ACTIONS” PROJECT
Roberto created “LaceR/Actions”, a multidisciplinary project concerning researches about pics of decomposed and torn publicity posters, natural cracks and scratches, urban/industrial tokens. Impressed by photocamera and transferred on canvases, reproduced on lithographic prints or textiles, re-built on collages or scanned in videoclips, the details of torn and decomposed publicity posters give new life to waste-paper. In October 2011, he participated at Parallax Art Fair in London (La Galleria, Royal Opera Arcade, Pall Mall). “The Huffington Post” (September 2011) wrote about his artwork devoted to Nine Eleven Fallen; article by dr. Srini Pillay, Psychiatrist, Harvard clinician, brain imaging researcher, executive coach, author (Life Unlocked, The Science behind the Law of Attraction, Your Brain and Business: the Neuroscience of the Great Leaders). One of his works was selected to be part of the new Contemporary Art Museum projected and created in Italy (Marche region) by the artist Pasquale Martini (opening: April 27, 2013).
Art critics and experts said that Roberto Alborghetti’s art has an “exceptional and evocative dynamic”, “a strong power of language”; he shows “new points of observation that overwhelm canonical trial systems”, ” He breaks the current patterns of visual art”, his artworks “are explosions of color, passion, joy, sorrow, story, emotion, beauty, love…”, “They touch us on the raw and go straight to the heart”, ” a provocation to our eyes and to our mind”.
The most recent Roberto Alborghetti Shows (“Colors of an Apocalypse – An Intrigue for the Eyes and Mind from Decomposed Publicity Posters “) took place in wonderful and impressive locations: the Rocca Aldobrandesca (a XIII Century fortress in Tuscany, Siena, Italy) and the Romanesque Bapstistery in Lenno, on Lake Como. His project has been the focus of “Atelier of colors and emotions” project which involved children with disabilities (Autism Spectrum Syndrome). His most recent projects: “Contemplations and Lacer/actions” (album, videoclip, installations, inspired by Thomas of Bergamo Scripts (1563-1631)); “Lacer/actions on Aluminium” (11 installation for Fai private collection) and “The Ghost Bus” , in collaboration with Bartons PLC and Act Group, Beeston, Nottingham, UK.

Hi Vincent, Thanks for your kind message and compliments for your Italian! No, I’m not a painter and my artworks are not paintings. They are realistic images that I catch on the streets and on publicity display. I transfer images on canvas, lithographs, clip and now on silk scarves… Thank you very much for your attention! Roberto

Hi Roberto,
You know I follow your work and take inspiration from your images and dedication to your projects.
I have recently started a new wordpress blog called Forty Five. It is a site where I am hoping fellow wordpress photographers might wish to contribute. A site where images and inspiration are shared with links back to the originators site.
I wonder if you might be interested in taking part?
If you visit the site on the link below you will see there are a set of rules as to how you take 9 images in 45 minutes.
This would be very different from your regular photographic work.
If you choose to participate, as a wordpress user it would be possible for you to blog the gallery of 9 images (on your site) in the same style as the Forty Five and with your permission they could then be reblogged with full credits to yourself.
I can’t promise that it will generate much traffic to your site but as with many things, it is the taking part that is the important part!
It is a fun exercise and a different way of being out and about with your camera. You can publish just photos and if you choose a few words about your personal experience of Forty Five while out capturing your images.
Forty Five is here:
https://takeninephotosinfortyfiveminutes.wordpress.com
It would be great if you might consider giving it a go… 🙂
Keep up the good work
Best wishes
Mr Cafe
Hi, in these days I’m in Rome for work and I have not so much time. I will have a look in the next days anyway. Thank you so much!
[…] In the above music video is the latest of my new recordings; my third with bassist and producer Simon Paterson.
