“There is a crack, a crack in everything/ That’s how the light gets in“, Leonard Cohen

In this photo gallery here a summary of the photographic compositions dedicated to one of my favorite subjects: the cracks. Here are presented the graphic re-compositions gradually published in recent months. Why do I like the crepe theme, symbolized by Leonard Cohen’s beautiful song?

We live in a planet of cracks. And cracks may be considered as a life’s metaphor and “an active aesthetical appreciation” of what we call the disturbing elements of imperfection. Surely through the cracks we can see the world from a different perspective and from a new point of view. In cracks magnifications we may see and find interesting textures and surprising values, because “there is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gest in”.

In the photos: cracks and scratches on walls, paints, surfaces of various materials, papers of decomposed publicity posters on billboards. The photographs or macro-photographs of the “Lacer/actions” project are not manipulated or enhanced with digital systems or softwares.

“C’è una crepa, una crepa in ogni cosa / È così che entra la luce”, Leonard Cohen

In questa foto galleria ecco un riassunto delle composizioni fotografiche dedicate ad uno dei miei soggetti preferiti: le crepe. Sono qui presentate le ri-composizioni grafiche via via pubblicate in questi mesi. Perchè mi piace il tema delle crepe, simbolizzato dalla bellissima canzone di Leonard Cohen?

Viviamo in un pianeta di crepe. E le crepe possono essere considerate come una metafora della vita e “un attivo apprezzamento estetico” di ciò che chiamiamo “gli elementi di disturbo dell’imperfezione”. Negli ingrandimenti delle crepe possiamo vedere e trovare trame interessanti e valori sorprendenti, perché “c’è una crepa in ogni cosa, è così che entra la luce”.
