The great success for the Year of Roses 2021 continues: the initiative is promoted internationally by Okay! and ACT, Art Culture Tourism. Today we present the images received from Broxtowe Women’s Project (BWP), Nottinghamshire, UK. The photographs are accompanied by an interesting and meaningful comment, which we publish here.

What does a rose mean to you? “He noticed her there, amongst all the weeds, a beautiful rose, about to bloom…but one day he plucked her and stole her from her world. Snatching her away, from all she knew. From all she loved.”

This moving line from a poem by Sarah captures what a rose means to just one of the women Broxtowe Women’s Project (BWP) supports. The imagery Sarah captures with her poem ‘Beautiful Rose’, sparks ideas of fairy tales, and speaks to all of us, not just those who work in the field…
