Already a decade ago, alongside the photographs of corroded and defaced advertising posters, cracks, scratches, lacerations and urban decompositions, I started taking close-up photos of an element that represents the maximum expression of material mutation. That is: the ice.

I think the world of ice is fascinating. Its transformation process – from water to a solid, frozen crust – is something extraordinary. The hand of nature accompanies water in the creation of real artistic compositions, which I could not fail to grasp and document during my “Lacer / actions” project.

So, for the first time ever, I want to share my journey through images that integrate, on another level, my research across the reality that surrounds us and through the perception and observation of the elements that come to life in the transformation processes. and decomposition of matter.

A technical note: as you can see, the dominant color of this series of images is azure-blue. This is due to the fact that the photographs were taken in soft light due to the cloudy sky.

So, welcome to this journey through the coldest images, but surprisingly warm for the shapes and the world they draw and give us as – if not more – the hands of a painter on canvas.

Già una decina di anni fa, accanto alle fotografie di manifesti pubblicitari corrosi e deturpati, crepe, graffi, lacerations e decomposizioni urbane, ho iniziato a scattare foto ravvicinate di un elemento che rappresenta l’espressione massima della mutazione materiale. Ossia: il ghiaccio. Ritengo che il mondo del ghiaccio sia affascinante. Il suo processo di trasformazione – da acqua a crosta solida e gelata – è qualcosa di straordinario.

La mano della natura accompagna l’acqua nella creazione di vere e proprie composizioni artistiche, che non potevo non cogliere e documentare nel corso del mio progetto “Lacer/actions”. Dunque, per la prima volta in assoluto, desidero condividere questo mio percorso tra immagini che integrano, su un altro livello, il mio discorso di ricerca sulla realtà che ci circonda, sulla percezione e sull’osservazione degli elementi che prendono vita nei processi di trasformazione e decomposizione della materia.

Una annotazione tecnica: come si vede, il colore dominante di questa serie di immagini è l’azzurro-blu. Ciò è determinato dal fatto che le fotografie sono state scattate con la luce tenue dovuta al cielo annuvolato.Dunque, benvenuti in questo viaggio tra le immagini più fredde e gelide, ma sorprendentemente calde per le forme e il mondo che esse disegnano e ci regalano al pari – se non più – delle mani di un pittore sulla tela.
