At first glance they look like one of those images for the aerial photography category. Indeed, aerial photographs of a city located on the sea … You can see the network of streets and the strip that is located near the sea, which is obviously blue … But this reading is only the result of a mental image, from a personal point of view. The photos, much more simply, are close-up shots of the surface of a disfigured warning sign that I identified at the Monterotondo railway station, a city that is located at the gates of Rome. Yes, amazing cracks!

This series of shots is also part of the now large collection (over 120,000 photographs) for my “Lacer/actions” project, which documents the beauty of the imperfect (and decomposed) reality that surrounds us, and which we often cannot perceive. So: welcome to the blue city on the blue sea, the one we see from above of the plane…of our mind.

A prima vista sembrano proprio una di quelle immagini per la categoria delle fotografie aeree. Anzi, fotografie aeree di una città che si trova sul mare… Si possono scorgere il reticolo delle vie e la striscia che si trova in prossimità del mare, che è ovviamente di colore blu… Ma questa lettura è solo frutto di una immagine mentale, di un punto di vista personale. Le foto, molto più semplicemente, sono scatti ravvicinati della superficie di un cartello segnaletico, corroso dal tempo, individuato presso la Stazione ferroviaria di Monterotondo, città che si trova alle porte di Roma. Anche questa serie di scatti fa parte della ormai ampia collezione (oltre 120.000 fotografie) per il mio progetto “Lacer/actions”, che documenta la bellezza della realtà imperfetta (e decomposta) che ci circonda, e che spesso non riusciamo a percepire. E allora: benvenuti nella città blu sul mare blu, quella che vediamo dall’alto, a bordo di un aereo.
