Kindness is like a silk caress on the mind … This phrase was suggested to me by the images of the silk scarves produced with the image design of my “Lacer / Actions” project. Today is the World Kindness Day: it is celebrated annually on 13th November. On this day, participants attempt to make the world a better place by celebrating and promoting good deeds and pledging acts of kindness, either as individuals or as organisations. World Kindness Day was first launched in 1998 by The World Kindness Movement, an organisation formed at a 1997 Tokyo conference of like-minded kindness organisations from around the world. There are currently over 28 nations involved in The World Kindness Movement.

It’s great to celebrate kindness and we could do with a bit more in our fast messed up world. Kindness is part of being human and should be part of our everyday 🙂 I had no idea today was a celebration of kindness so thank you for sharing.

*When viewed in gallery mode some of your images display the words ‘Olympus Digital Camera’ beneath them. Those words are easy to remove if you go into edit photo in wordpress media page where you select the pics once uploaded. Strangely it seems it is only Olympus that transfers this information into the title bar. Presumably they have something in the picture file metadata. I’ve never seen any other camera files fill that particular field in wordpress! You may know this already but I thought I’d mention it in case you’d prefer not to have words unrelated to your images on display.

Yes, the World Kindness Day has been celebrated for some years and I think it was also proposed as a result of the aggressiveness and hate language that we often see on social networks. An invitation to slow down the exasperation of words. Thanks also for reporting about the brand on the photos. In fact, only Olimpus has this sort of brand at its source. Canon and Nikon do not use this system. I always try to replace it with an indication of the caption, but I often choose photos from a few years ago, on which the Olimpus brand has not been canceled.
