The magical Volcano Dress and “The Princess, the Fire and the Castle” project has sparked the interest in Tuscany and in Mount Amiata. On last Sunday, December 20, at the Teatro Comunale in Piancastagnaio (Siena) there was the presentation of the fairy tale that Roberto Alborghetti and Yarden Mitrani created around the high fashion dress dedicated to Volcano Amiata (the design of the outfit was made on the basis of an abstract photo that Roberto Alborghetti took from an old and rusty bus at Bartons Plc, in Nottingham UK).
The special event consisted in the presentation of a short film, in a public reading by the actress Mirelda Morini and in the official launch of “The Princess, the Fire and the Castle” e-book, available in online bookstores (at only 0.99 Euros). Mirelda Morini, with her performance, was able to give depth and color to the story that – punctuated by original music by Eylon Malhi – revolves around the peculiarities of design and its cut dress Volcano, which has indeed inspired the tale. But the bright colors of the dress were not limited to suggest a story and a television documentary, but also an original label for bottles of fine wine produced by Azienda Agricola Pinzi Pinzuti (Abbadia S. Salvatore, Tuscany). Was produced a symbolic image that clearly expresses the characteristics of the “volcanic wine” (the vines grow in lava rock from the extint Volcano Amiata). Also during the event, which received a great attention from the public, it was presented an accessory for the Volcano Dress: a surprising “purse” created with the fingers by “Knitta” that promotes innovative forms of artistic craftsmanship.
The project has also strongly affected the students of the course for designers at Avogadro Institute in Abbadia San Salvatore. At the Teatro Comunale, about 200 pupils also attended the public reading of the fairy tale and the vision of the short film.
