On my most recent visit to Robin Hood’s Land for The Ghost Bus project developments, Marysia Zipser and Caron-Jane Lyon accompanied me to the Lakeside Arts Center for a series of meetings. It was a pleasant surprise for me to immerse myself in the atmosphere of the University Park Campus, a real oasis of greenery, where relaxation, tranquility and a great variety of trees and flowers reign. Although the day was not sunny, the nature of the park offered a wonderful show, including the squirrels and the little ducks that you crossed on the walk. The small lake mirrored the greenery around it, offering priceless visual glimpses, which I tried to stop in the photographs, some of which are presented in the photo gallery.
University Park is The University of Nottingham’s largest campus at 300 acres. Part of the University since 1929, the campus is widely regarded as one of the largest and most attractive in the country. Set in extensive greenery and around a lake, University Park is the focus of life for students, staff and visitors. Conveniently located only two miles from the city centre, the campus contains period buildings, modern state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities, 12 halls of residence (accommodating over 3,000 students), several award-winning buildings, a conference and exhibition centre, sports facilities and the Lakeside Arts Centre. The hub of student life is the Portland Building, which houses the Students’Union, the Student Support Centre, as well as shops, banks, bars and restaurants.
Parks and gardens in the University’s landscaped settings which feature: long-established woodland, contemporary gardens, the Millennium Garden, a quiet, reflective place in which to escape the hustle and bustle of campus life. The campus has been a Civic Trust Green Flag Award Winner every year since 2003, the only university campus to achieve this status.

Nella mia più recente visita nella Terra di Robin Hood per gli sviluppi del progetto The Ghost Bus, Marysia Zipser e Caron Jane Lyon mi hanno accompagnato al Lakeside Arts Centre per una serie di incontri. E’ stata per me una piacevole sorpresa immergermi nell’atmosfera dell’University Park Campus, una vera e propria oasi di verde, dove regnano relax, tranquillità ed una grande varietà di alberi e di fiori. Benchè la giornata non fosse soleggiata, la natura del Parco ha offerto un suo meraviglioso spettacolo, compresi gli scoiattoli e le paperelle che incrociavi nella passeggiata. Il piccolo lago rispecchiava il verde attorno, offrendo degli impagabili scorci visivi, che ho cercato di fermare nelle fotografie, alcune delle quali sono presentate nella fotogalleria.
