The wear and tear of time, in its unstoppable pace, causes corrosion and cracking. This is what happened to the waste baskets placed in the center of a surprising medieval village, Abbadia San Salvatore, located on Mount Amiata, in the heart of Tuscany. The yellow paint, over the years, has peeled off and corroded, leaving room for imaginary arabesques that the eye of my camera caught at close range.

L’usura del tempo, nel suo inarrestabile incedere, provoca corrosioni e screpolature. Così è capitato ai cestini per i rifiuti collocati nel centro di un sorprendente villaggio medioevale, Abbadia San Salvatore, situato sul monte Amiata, nel cuore della Toscana. La verniciatura gialla, nel corso degli anni, si è scrostata e corrosa, lasciando poi spazio ad immaginari arabeschi che l’occhio della mia fotocamera ha colto a distanza ravvicinata.

I like the images in the video and the inclusion of the waste basket at the end is a nice touch. I will be honest with a little bit of feedback though…!!! The transitions between images are not my favourite. They eventually only fall into focus a split second before the next image comes along. It means most of the video is in transition rather than the image in focus. I mention this only to be constructive rather than simply critical and obviously I’m only expressing my preference in how I enjoy seeing your images at their best 🙂

Thanks Mr C! Yes, you are right! I’m confident that I made this video just for the sake of experimenting. And I decided to show this attempt. Moreover I already have the real first version ready. The small clip was made with Movie Maker, which does not allow phantasmagorical effects, but the simplicity of the images. In this sense this video is like a return to the origins. Thank you so much!
