There are eyes that always “look” at us. They are those of the faces on the advertising posters on the walls or on the billboards, along the streets of our cities. The torn paper of the advertisements, consumed by time and bad weather, can reveal interesting glimpses and elements, such as those of the eyes, reproduced and cut out by the process of paper decomposition. I like to photograph this subject: our eyes that meet other eyes, casually, inadvertently, surprisingly.

All this is part of my artistic project “Lacer/actions”, for which I have so far collected over 150,000 photographic images, taken around the cities of the world, regarding everything that is corroded, torn, deteriorated, decomposed and cracked material. The world and the cities tell and reveal themselves also through torn posters and defaced surfaces. They are not always easy to see. You just have to keep your attention and perception high on what surrounds you.

Ci sono occhi che ci “guardano” sempre. Sono quelli dei volti dei manifesti pubblicitari affissi alle pareti o sui tabelloni, lungo le vie delle nostre città. La carta lacerata delle pubblicità, consumata dal tempo e dal maltempo, può rivelare scorci ed elementi interessanti, come appunto quelli degli occhi, riprodotti e ritagliati dal processo di decomposizione cartaceo. Mi piace fotografare questo soggetto: i nostri occhi che incrociano altri occhi, casualmente, inavvertitamente, sorprendentemente.

Tutto ciò fa parte del mio progetto artistico “Lacer/actions”, per il quale ho finora raccolto oltre 150.000 immagini fotografiche, scattate in giro per le città del mondo, riguardanti tutto ciò che è materiale corroso, lacerato, deteriorato, decomposto e crepato. Il mondo e le città si raccontano e si rivelano anche attraverso poster strappati e superfici deturpate. Non sono sempre facili da vedere. Si deve solo mantenere alta l’attenzione e la percezione su quanto ci circonda.
