With Art Basel Miami 2024 the city of Florida – the metropolitan area has around 5 million inhabitants – was animated by a succession of events and initiatives that put the streets of the central area (Downtown) to the test, which was already critical on the mobility plan.
Many visitors stopped at the Design District, also stopping at the Lucid Art Gallery where the artistic bags of the JCidel Collection are on display, at the center of curiosity and interest also due to the iconographic originality imprinted on the fabrics, which they reproduce photos and macro photos taken by Roberto Alborghetti of the signs and materials of deterioration and urban degradation (cracks, corrosion, scratches and so on). Many questions were asked to Alborghetti by sector experts and art enthusiasts. And great is the surprise in knowing that the images imprinted on the bags created by Jeannie and Johnny Cidel are photos which, in fact, faithfully reproduce the decomposition of the elements and realities that surround us.

The bags will also be on display after Art Basel, until December 17th. Then, from January 2025 they will be hosted in other important galleries that have already come forward to welcome these contemporary works of “Made in Italy” creativity, having been produced in Florence. Con Art Basel Miami 2024 la città della Florida – l’area metropolitana conta circa 5 milioni di abitanti- è stata animata da un susseguirsi di eventi ed iniziative che hanno messo a dura prova le vie dell’area centrale (Downtown) già peraltro critica sul piano della mobilità.

Tanti i visitatori che hanno fatto tappa al Distretto del Design, con tappa anche alla Lucid Art Gallery dove sono in mostra le borse artistiche della JCidel Collection, al centro della curiosità e dell’interesse anche per via dell’originalità iconografica impressa sui tessuti, che riproducono foto e macrofoto scattate da Roberto Alborghetti ai segni e ai materiali del deterioramento e del degrado urbano (crepe, corrosioni, graffi e così via). Tante le domande che sono state poste ad Alborghetti dagli esperti di settore e dagli appassionati d’arte. E grande è la sorpresa nel sapere che le immagini impresse sulle borse realizzate da Jeannie e Johnny Cidel sono foto che, appunto, riproducono fedelmente la decomposizione degli elementi e delle realtà che ci circondano.

Le borse saranno in mostra anche dopo Art Basel, fino al 17 dicembre. Poi, da gennaio 2025 saranno ospitate presso altre importanti gallerie che si sono già fatte avanti per poter accogliere queste opere contemporanee della creatività “Made in Italy”, essendo state prodotte in terra fiorentina.
