“Awesome!”, “Gorgeous!”, “Wow!”: these were the recurring adjectives in the comments of the general public at Art Basel Miami, the global artistic event which previewed the “pieces” of the JCIDEL Collection , created on the basis of my macro photographs or close-up photos, on the urban decay of cities around the globe. Many people did not want to miss the inaugural moment of an exhibition made up of different emotions, locations and contexts.

At the Lucid Art Gallery, the heart of the Design District, almost opposite the Institute of Contemporary Art, the event that gave the opportunity to see “up close” these bags defined as “art objects”. There was also a performance by a model, Anastasia, who walked the runway showing the works from the collection. And then meetings with the public and video footage curated by Jean Claude Bienaimè. With Jeannie and Johnny Cidel, the particularity of the design of the bags was underlined, also indicated by the beautiful series of postcards on which the geographical origin of each single photographic image was also revealed.

The public was largely incredulous about the origin of those colors (in fact they are thought to be paintings) located on decomposed advertising posters, cracks, corroded and defaced materials. It is the aesthetics of deterioration – so I liked to tell some experts and art enthusiasts – where the boundary between order and disorder becomes less evident, so an image can tell us about the amazement for the things that surround us. #jcidelcollection #artbasilmiami #lucidartgallery #fashiontrends #art #robertoalborghetti #contemporaryart

“Awesome!”, “Gorgeous!”, “Wow!”: questi gli aggettivi ricorrenti nei commenti, ieri sera, del grande pubblico di Art Basel Miami, l’evento artistico mondiale che ha proposto in anteprima i “pezzi” della JCIDEL Collection, creata sulla base delle macro fotografie o foto ravvicinate, sul degrado urbano delle città del globo. Tantissime le persone che non hanno voluto perdersi il momento inaugurale di una mostra fatta di diverse emozioni, locations e contesti. Alla Lucid Art Gallery, cuore del Distretto del Design, quasi dirimpetto all’Istituto di Arte Contemporanea, l’evento che ha dato modo di vedere “da vicino” queste borse definite “oggetti d’arte”. C’è stata anche la performance di una modella, Anastasia, che ha sfilato mostrando le opere della collezione. E poi incontri con il pubblico e riprese-video curate da Jean Claude Bienaimè. Con Jeannie e Johnny Cidel,
è stata sottolineata la particolarità del design delle borse, indicata anche dalla bellissima serie di cartoline sulle quali è stata svelata anche la provenienza geografica di ogni singola immagine fotografica. Il pubblico per gran parte era incredulo circa l’origine di quei colori (si pensa infatti che siano dipinti) localizzati su manifesti pubblicitari decomposti, crepe, materiali corrosi e deturpati. È l’estetica del deterioramento – così mi è piaciuto raccontare ad alcuni esperti ed appassionati d’arte – dove si fa meno evidente il confine tra ordine e disordine, per cui una immagine ci può narrare lo stupore per le cose che ci circondano. #jcidelcollection #artbasilmiami #lucidartgallery #fashiontrends #art #robertoalborghetti #contemporaryart
