The Ghost Bus Night Show is scheduled on 12th June (7-9pm) at the St. John the Baptist Church, in Beeston, Nottingham (UK). The event is curated and directed by Marysia Zipser – Art Culture Tourism, promoted by Visit Nottinghamshire and The Beestonian; supported by Broxtowe Borough Council, Nottingham City Council, Nottinghamshire County Council, Confetti Media Group, Nottingham Trent University, University of Nottingham, Jeanie Barton Music. The Mayor of Broxtowe Councillor Sue Paterson and her Consort will be officially attending.

Doors open at 6.15pm. The Church is located in the centre of Beeston, a short distance from The Square. For accessibility , transport and parking see this link: https://beestonparishchurch.com/ . Trams and bus stops are close by the perimeter of the church front lawn.

A VISUAL AND MUSICAL ARTS EXPERIENCE

Become immersed in this visual and musical arts experience for one night only! Celebrating the Ghost Bus as it returns…with Roberto Alborghetti on his 8th visit as Italian celebrated author, journalist, visual artist and official biographer to Pope Francis: he wrote 7 books about him. From natural cracks and scratches, deteriorations, decomposed publicity posters, urban and industrial tokens, to abstract art along our streets, caught by camera, macro style, transforming into fashion before our eyes – textiles, dresses, scarves and the amazing handbags created in USA and Italy by the wonderful JC Cidel Collection.

It was ten years ago when Roberto first set eyes on this old bus, tired and rusty after thousands of miles. But he tells us if we look closely, it continues to tell us the colours of its days along the dusty roads of the world. There have been many films and musical collaborations produced since then by Roberto and with singer composer, Jeanie Barton, sharing and strengthening the bonds of friendship, creativity and mutual cooperation. Watch a series of short films by Roberto discovering the stories our environment can tell us. He will introduce each film (including three new ones dedicated to London, Beeston and Nottingham) and afterwards there will be an interactive Q&A session. There will be an interval of 20 mins.

Immergiti in questa esperienza di arti visive e musicali solo per una notte! Celebrando il ritorno dell’autobus fantasma… con Roberto Alborghetti alla sua ottava visita come celebre autore, giornalista, artista visivo e biografo di Papa Francesco (è autore di ben 7 libri sul Papa argentino). Il suo progetto è incredibile: dalle crepe e dai graffi naturali, dai deterioramenti, dai manifesti pubblicitari decomposti, dai simboli urbani e industriali, all’arte astratta lungo le nostre strade; tutto è catturato dalla macchina fotografica, anche in modalità macro, trasformandosi poi davanti ai nostri occhi in tele, tessuti, abiti, sciarpe e borse della prestigiosa JC Cidel Collection.

Sono passati dieci anni da quando Roberto pose gli occhi per la prima volta su questo vecchio autobus, stanco e arrugginito dopo migliaia di chilometri. “Ma se guardiamo bene – dice Roberto – il bus dei Barton continua a raccontarci i colori delle sue giornate lungo le strade polverose del mondo”. Da allora sono stati molti i film e le collaborazioni musicali prodotte da Roberto anche con la cantante compositrice Jeanie Barton, condividendo e rafforzando i legami di amicizia, creatività e cooperazione reciproca. Nella “Notte speciale” del 12 Giugno saranno proiettati cortometraggi creati da Roberto dedicati alla scoperta delle storie che il nostro ambiente può raccontarci. Presenterà tre nuovi lavori, dedicati a Londra e a Beeston e successivamente ci sarà una sessione interattiva di domande e risposte, con un intervallo di 20 minuti.
